I'm 73 & Found the Perfect ETrike for Me! The Simple Glide Electric Tricycle from sixthreezero

Let's talk about the Simple Glide electric tricycle! To get started, you simply press the power button here in the middle. Hold it down, and there you go. The display shows your speed, battery life, and pedal assist level. If you're not familiar with e-bikes, pedal assist determines how much assistance the motor provides while you're pedaling. This e-trike also has a twist throttle, which means you can apply power just by twisting the handle, like on a motorcycle. We had a special guest, Paul Bartlow, try out the Simple Glide. Paul lives near the beach and, at 73 years young, has some experience riding e-bikes with friends. This was his first time on an electric tricycle, though.

We explained to Paul how the throttle works and suggested taking it easy at first, especially since this is a recumbent bike. It doesn't need a lot of power for regular riding, but it comes in handy for going up hills. Paul took off for a test ride, and we watched as he got the hang of it. The turning radius on the Simple Glide is fantastic; you can practically turn on a dime. However, he did notice that giving it too much power at once could cause a bit of a skid. Later, Paul had a question about the range. He wanted to know how many miles you could go on just electric power. The range depends on several factors, including the rider's weight and the terrain. On a full charge, with no pedaling, you could probably get 20 to 30 miles. If you use pedal assist, you could get 40 to 50 miles.

Charging the battery is simple and takes just two to three hours using a standard wall outlet. You can even remove the battery from the trike and charge it separately, which is very convenient. Some people even get an extra battery for longer rides. For everyday use, like a quick ride around the neighborhood, you might only need to charge the battery once or twice a week. It lasts quite a while unless you're constantly tackling steep hills. Paul loved the flexibility of the removable battery and thought the Simple Glide would be perfect for cruising along the boardwalk near the beach. He had no trouble navigating on his first ride and quickly learned that you don't need much power for casual riding; it's mostly useful for hills. Overall, Paul had a great experience with the Simple Glide, and it seems like a fantastic option for anyone looking for a comfortable and easy-to-use electric tricycle.
