Others learned a long time ago and have quietly decided they are done wobbling at stop signs. Plenty more just want to get outside, carry a bag of groceries home and feel completely planted the whole way there. For every one of those people, the four-wheel electric bike is one of the most interesting things to show up in cycling in years.

Dustin, who has spent about twenty years in the bike and ebike business and handles rider fitting at sixthreezero, recently put two of the brand's four-wheelers next to each other and walked through how they differ: the Simple Glide 4 Wheel and the ANYterrain Stabilized. They share the same motor size and plenty of design thinking, but they are built for different riders and different roads. What follows is a closer look at both, along with the practical questions worth answering before you bring one home.

A traditional bicycle asks you to do something most people stop thinking about after childhood: balance. At cruising speed that is easy enough. The hard moments are the slow ones. Starting from a stop, creeping through a crowded parking lot, putting a foot down on a slope, turning sharply onto a driveway. Those are the moments when a two-wheeler feels least forgiving, and they are also the moments when most low-speed falls happen.

Remove the need to balance, and riding becomes a different activity. You can stop in the middle of a path and stay seated. You can look over your shoulder without the handlebars drifting. You can load a basket with a gallon of milk and a sack of potatoes without wondering whether the weight will tip you over. That is the core appeal of a multi-wheel bike, and it is why Dustin keeps coming back to the same point when he talks about these machines: stability is the number one thing.

Electric trikes already solve a lot of this, and sixthreezero builds a wide range of them. But a four-wheeler goes a step further. Instead of a single wheel up front or a single wheel in the back, you get a tire at each corner. That wider base at both ends is what gives these bikes their reassuring, almost car-like feeling when you sit on them. Push on the frame from the side and it simply does not move.

There is also a less technical reason people choose four wheels. Some riders just don't love the look or feel of a tricycle. They want something stable, but they want it to feel like its own thing rather than a compromise. For them, a four-wheel layout hits the sweet spot.

The riders who tend to gravitate toward four-wheelers include:

Adults who never learned to ride a bike and want an easy, low-pressure way to start.

Experienced cyclists who are moving out of the two-wheel phase and want something that won't tip.

Riders who want a dependable mobility option for errands and getting around a neighborhood or retirement community.

People who considered a trike but want even more stability or simply prefer a four-wheel design.

What the Electric Motor Changes

Four-wheel pedal cars have been around for a long time. You have probably seen surrey-style quadricycles rolling along beach boardwalks. They are fun for an afternoon, but they are also heavy, and pedaling one up even a gentle hill can feel like a workout nobody signed up for. That weight problem is exactly what kept four-wheel bikes in the novelty category for decades.

Adding an electric motor changes the equation completely. As Dustin puts it, now that four-wheel bikes come with motors, they are easier to pedal, and you can take on the same hills that people ride on two wheels. You don't have to strain to get them moving from a stop, which matters a great deal when the bike carries more frame, more wheels and more cargo than a standard bicycle.

Both bikes in this comparison give you three ways to ride:

Throttle only. Twist the throttle and the motor moves the bike without any pedaling at all.

Pedal assist. Pedal normally while the motor adds power, with adjustable assistance levels so you can choose how much help you get.

Pedal only. Turn the assist off and ride under your own power, just like a regular bike.

That flexibility is a bigger deal than it might sound. On a good day you might want a real workout. After a long walk or on a hot afternoon, you might want the bike to do almost everything. Dustin's summary is simple: you decide how hard you work. The bike can do all of it, most of it or none of it, and you can change your mind halfway through a ride.

If throttle control is high on your list in general, sixthreezero also groups its electric trikes with throttle control in one place, which is handy for comparing three- and four-wheel options side by side.
","id":"edc00889-a31d-4252-9bc7-22b3f1bceb3c"},{"layoutId":"bike-listing","variants":{},"bikes":[{"id":"ca50a623-4208-4ab5-83ff-ebe50b787e7e","value":{"entry":{"entryId":"396hOzL9HpGcW2KN9piZkn"}}},{"id":"4a27e027-1dc8-47e7-9545-cbfcfc60858d","value":{"entry":{"entryId":"2XHxWTKzOw7Q9lN4SMDViw"}}}],"id":"1a8a2c23-8ccd-4f55-a980-bf0c69559389"},{"layoutId":"paragraph-section","variants":{},"heading":"Meet the Two Models","body":"
Before getting into the details, here is the quick version. The Simple Glide 4 Wheel is a recumbent four-wheeler built around comfort. You sit low, in a supportive chair-style seat, with the pedals out in front of you. It is designed mainly for pavement, community paths and errands around town.

The ANYterrain Stabilized is an upright four-wheeler with wide, aggressive tires and a larger battery. You sit more like you would on a traditional bike, and it is built to handle hard-pack dirt and trails as comfortably as it handles the street.

Both use a 750W rear-mounted motor, both carry cargo front and rear, both have hydraulic disc brakes and both include a reverse function. The differences come down to seating position, tires, battery size, speed and where you plan to ride.

The Simple Glide 4 Wheel: Recumbent Comfort for Everyday Riding

The first thing most people notice about the Simple Glide is the seat. It is big, cushioned and closer to a comfortable chair than a bicycle saddle. That is deliberate. This is a recumbent-style four-wheeler, which means the rider sits back with the pedals positioned out in front of the body rather than directly below.

A seat you can actually adjust to your body

The Simple Glide's seat adjusts in two directions. It slides forward and backward so you can set the distance to the pedals based on your leg length, and it tilts forward and backward so you can change the angle of your back. Dustin demonstrates both in a few seconds, which tells you something about how often riders are expected to fine-tune it. Small changes in seat angle make a surprising difference over a long ride, especially for anyone with lower back stiffness.

Because the pedals sit out in front, you get good leg extension on each stroke. That tends to feel more natural on the knees than a cramped pedal position, and it lets your larger leg muscles do the work instead of forcing your knees up toward your chest.

Easy to get on and off

The recumbent layout has another benefit that is easy to overlook until you have tried it: the seat doesn't need to sit high off the ground. Getting on is closer to sitting down in a chair than climbing onto a bike. Getting off is just as simple. For riders with limited hip or knee mobility, or anyone who has been put off cycling because swinging a leg over a frame feels risky, this matters more than any spec on the sheet.

If low-effort mounting is your priority, it is also worth browsing sixthreezero's recumbent electric trikes, which use a similar seating approach on a three-wheel frame.

Handlebars that move with you

The handlebars on the Simple Glide are fully adjustable. Loosen the clamp and you can bring them down, raise them or change their reach until your arms and shoulders feel relaxed. Paired with the sliding, tilting seat, that gives you several points of adjustment to dial in a position that suits your height and how you like to sit. A bike that fits well is a bike you actually ride, so this flexibility is not a minor detail.

Storage for real errands

You get a basket up front and another in the rear. That means you can split a grocery run between the two, keep a bag or jacket in front where you can reach it and leave the bulkier items behind you. For riders who plan to replace short car trips with the bike, two baskets turn the Simple Glide into a genuinely practical errand vehicle. If you want even more carrying capacity, sixthreezero sells additional baskets and storage add-ons.

The optional canopy

The Simple Glide shown in the video wears a canopy, though it is an optional add-on. It provides shade overhead, which is a real comfort upgrade in sunny climates or for riders who need to limit sun exposure. If you ride in the middle of the day or live somewhere hot, it is worth a look. You can see the current options in the sixthreezero canopy collection.

Motor, battery, speed and range

Power comes from a 750W rear-mounted motor paired with a 15Ah battery. In practical terms, Dustin explains, that combination gives you a top speed of up to 16 mph and a range of up to 50 miles.

For a comfort-focused recumbent four-wheeler, 16 mph is plenty. It is quick enough to keep up with traffic on a bike lane and to make a trip across town feel easy, while staying in a range that feels relaxed and controlled on a stable, low-slung bike. The 50-mile range figure is a best-case number, as all ebike range ratings are. Rider weight, the amount of cargo you carry, hills, wind and how much you lean on the throttle all affect how far you'll get. Even so, for most errand and neighborhood riding, a single charge covers several days of trips.

The battery's capacity is described in amp hours, which is simply a measure of how much energy it stores. A bigger number means more energy in the tank. The Simple Glide's 15Ah pack is sized for paved riding where the motor isn't working as hard as it would on loose dirt or steep trails.

Wheels and tires

The Simple Glide uses two different wheel sizes. Up front there are two 16-inch wheels with 3-inch-wide tires. In the rear there are two 20-inch wheels, also 3 inches wide. Smaller front wheels help keep the front end compact and the seat low, while larger rear wheels roll more easily and carry more of the load. The 3-inch width gives a cushioned ride and good grip on pavement without the extra rolling resistance of a full fat tire.

Put all of that together, a low seat, a wide four-wheel stance and moderately wide tires, and you get a bike that feels extremely planted. In the video, Dustin pushes on it to show that it just doesn't move.

Where the Simple Glide shines

Dustin is clear about what this bike is for. It is more practical for pavement, general community riding, grocery runs around town and similar everyday trips. It works well as a mobility device for riders who want independence without the worry of balancing, and the optional canopy makes it comfortable for anyone who wants shade on sunny rides.

If you picture yourself cruising around your neighborhood, heading to the store, visiting friends a mile or two away or doing laps of a community path in the evening, the Simple Glide is designed exactly for that.
","id":"ede7e8e9-faa7-4b96-8999-7897b735580b"},{"layoutId":"full-width-image-with-out-bleed","variants":{},"image":{"assetId":"7LSbWMS1VbiPAZcGEw4khu","options":{"backgroundSize":"cover"},"mobileAssetId":"","mobileOptions":{"backgroundSize":"cover"}},"id":"27925d05-dc1f-41ef-bafe-d8f55739cdc0"},{"layoutId":"paragraph-section","variants":{},"heading":"The ANYterrain Stabilized: Upright Seating and Trail-Ready Tires","body":"
Walk over to the ANYterrain Stabilized and the difference is immediate. This one is not a recumbent. You sit upright, in a position closer to a cruiser or comfort bike, with the pedals beneath you. It looks more rugged, and that is because it is meant to go places the Simple Glide is not.

Built for riders who want to leave the pavement

The ANYterrain is for riders who like an upright ride, want to take on trails and still want four-wheel stability. Dustin points out that you can absolutely ride it on pavement, but it also does really well on hard-pack trails, dirt paths and similar surfaces. If your favorite routes include a gravel park path, a fire road or a dirt track along a lake, this is the four-wheeler that will be comfortable there.

Wider tires with a bulkier tread

The biggest visual change is the tires. The ANYterrain runs 4-inch-wide tires: 20 x 4 inches in the rear and 16 x 4 inches up front. That is a full inch wider than the Simple Glide, with a chunkier tread pattern. Wider tires spread the bike's weight over more ground, which helps them float over loose surfaces instead of digging in, and the deeper tread gives more grip on dirt and uneven ground. They also add a natural layer of cushioning over bumps and roots.

If fat tires appeal to you in general, sixthreezero's fat tire electric trikes use the same idea on three wheels.

More battery, more speed

The ANYterrain uses the same 750W rear-mounted motor as the Simple Glide, but it pairs it with a larger 20Ah battery. Top speed climbs to up to 19 mph, and range is rated at up to 50 miles.

Why the bigger battery if the range rating is the same? Because riding on dirt and over wider, grippier tires takes more energy than rolling across smooth pavement. The extra capacity helps the ANYterrain keep its range when you are asking more of the motor. On trails and mixed surfaces, that headroom is what lets you ride out and back without watching the battery gauge.

Plenty of cargo space

Like the Simple Glide, the ANYterrain carries cargo in front and in the rear. That makes it just as useful for errands as it is for weekend exploring. Pack a picnic, a jacket and some water, or use it for a supply run, and you still have both hands free for steering.

Who the ANYterrain suits best

Dustin sums it up neatly. If you are someone who doesn't want the recumbent feel and prefers to sit upright, the ANYterrain is perfect for that. If you want a little bulkier tread for hard-pack and dirt trails, it is a really strong option. And if you want the highest top speed of the two, this is the one.

A recumbent ANYterrain also exists

One detail worth knowing: sixthreezero also builds a recumbent version of the ANYterrain. It wasn't part of this side-by-side, but if you love the idea of a trail-capable four-wheeler and also want a reclined seat, take a look at the ANYterrain 4 Wheel 750w Recumbent EBike. The ANYterrain family also includes a compact folding four-wheel version for riders who need to store or transport their bike more easily. You can see every model together in the 4-wheel ebike collection.

Features Both Four-Wheelers Share

For all their differences in seating and tires, the Simple Glide 4 Wheel and the ANYterrain Stabilized share several features that matter a lot in day-to-day riding.

Hydraulic disc brakes

Both bikes use hydraulic disc brakes. Compared with mechanical brakes that rely on a cable, hydraulic systems use fluid to transfer force from the lever to the brake caliper. The result is smoother, stronger stopping with less hand effort. That is especially helpful on a bike that carries cargo, goes up to 16 or 19 mph and may be ridden by people with reduced grip strength. A light squeeze brings the bike to a controlled stop. If brakes are a deciding factor for you, sixthreezero also lists its electric trikes with disc brakes together.

Reverse function

This is one of those features you don't think about until you need it, and then you can't imagine going without it. Both models can move backward using the throttle. Four-wheel and three-wheel bikes are heavier and wider than a standard bicycle, so maneuvering one out of a parking spot, a garage or a tight corner can be awkward if you have to climb off and drag it. With reverse, you stay seated and back out under power. As Dustin notes, you don't have to get off if you need to move the bike.

Reverse has become a must-have for many riders in this category. sixthreezero has a full article on why it matters, the top electric trikes for seniors with a reverse gear, and a dedicated collection of reverse gear electric trikes.

Throttle plus pedal assist

Both bikes include a throttle and pedal assist with multiple levels. You can press the throttle and not pedal at all, pedal with the level of assistance that feels right or switch the motor off entirely. It sounds like a small thing, but it is what makes these bikes work for such a wide range of riders. Someone recovering from an injury might lean heavily on the throttle at first and gradually start pedaling more. A fitter rider might use low assist on the flats and bump it up for hills. The bike adapts to you, not the other way around.

Front and rear cargo

Both have storage at each end. Combined with the stability of four wheels, that means you can load them up without worrying about how the weight affects balance. This is one of the strongest arguments for a four-wheeler over a two-wheel ebike for anyone who plans to run errands.
","id":"4efa7c79-aa48-4ec2-b6f9-41557263a347"},{"layoutId":"full-width-image-with-out-bleed","variants":{},"image":{"assetId":"1O05feMralkdnYlpRausAq","options":{"backgroundSize":"cover"},"mobileAssetId":"","mobileOptions":{"backgroundSize":"cover"}},"id":"09dcf926-75d2-42a2-9c0e-e87bd5d1fa79"},{"layoutId":"paragraph-section","variants":{},"heading":"Simple Glide 4 Wheel vs. ANYterrain Stabilized at a Glance","body":"
FeatureSimple Glide 4 WheelANYterrain Stabilized Riding positionRecumbent (pedals forward)Upright Motor750W rear-mounted750W rear-mounted Battery15Ah20Ah Top speedUp to 16 mphUp to 19 mph RangeUp to 50 milesUp to 50 miles Front tiresTwo 16\" x 3\"Two 16\" x 4\" Rear tiresTwo 20\" x 3\"Two 20\" x 4\" BrakesHydraulic discHydraulic disc ReverseYes, via throttleYes, via throttle Throttle and pedal assistYesYes CargoFront and rear basketsFront and rear cargo CanopyOptionalNot shown Best forPavement, community riding, errands, mobilityPavement plus hard-pack dirt and trails

Which Four-Wheel Electric Bike Is Right for You?

Specs only tell part of the story. The better question is how and where you will actually ride. Here are the situations that usually point riders one way or the other.

Choose the Simple Glide 4 Wheel if…

You will ride mostly on paved roads, bike lanes, sidewalks where permitted and community paths. You want the most comfortable seat possible, with back support and the ability to recline a little. Getting on and off a bike is the hardest part of riding for you, and you'd love a low seat you can simply sit down onto. You like the idea of shade overhead from a canopy. Your main goals are errands, visiting neighbors, getting some fresh air and staying independent, rather than covering rough ground.

The Simple Glide is the more relaxed of the two. It is the bike you hop on to go get coffee, pick up a prescription or ride a slow loop at sunset.

Choose the ANYterrain Stabilized if…

You prefer to sit upright and see the road the way you did on a regular bike. Your rides include dirt paths, gravel, park trails or packed sand. You want the wider tires and chunkier tread for grip and cushioning. A little more speed appeals to you, along with a bigger battery for harder riding. You plan to use the bike for adventure as much as for errands.

The ANYterrain is the more versatile of the two. It handles the same errands as the Simple Glide but opens up a lot more ground once the pavement ends.

Still not sure?

Think about the last few places you wished you could ride. If they were all paved, the Simple Glide's comfort is hard to beat. If even one of them involved dirt or gravel, the ANYterrain gives you room to grow. And if you love the trail capability but also want a reclined seat, the recumbent ANYterrain covers both.

You can also skip the guesswork entirely and talk to a person. sixthreezero offers a personal fitting consultation with Dustin and his team, aimed at matching riders to the right bike for their body and how they plan to ride.

Four Wheels or Three? How Four-Wheelers Compare to Electric Trikes

If you are researching four-wheel ebikes, you are almost certainly looking at electric tricycles too. Both categories solve the balance problem, and both are excellent choices. The right one depends on what you value.

Stability. Trikes are stable at a stop and at normal riding speeds. A four-wheeler adds a second wheel at the single-wheel end, which widens the base at both the front and the rear. Riders who have felt a trike lean a little in sharp turns or on sloped ground often notice the difference right away. If maximum stability is the deciding factor, four wheels usually win.

Variety. The trike category is far larger. There are folding trikes, rickshaws that carry passengers, tandem trikes, cargo trikes and models with two wheels in front, sometimes called tadpole or front-wheel e-trikes. If you need a very specific feature, there is a good chance a trike has it.

Feel. Some riders simply prefer the look and ride of one over the other. A four-wheeler can feel more like a small personal vehicle, while a trike can feel closer to a traditional bicycle. Neither is better. It is a matter of taste.

Seating. Both categories offer upright and recumbent options. If you like the Simple Glide's reclined seat but want three wheels, look at sixthreezero's recumbent e-trikes. If you are shopping for an older rider, the electric trikes for seniors collection is a good starting point, along with this guide to the safest 3 wheel bikes for adults over 60.

For heavier riders or anyone planning to carry substantial loads, it's worth checking load ratings carefully regardless of wheel count. sixthreezero groups its high weight capacity electric trikes together, and its review of e-trikes for heavier riders covers what to look for. These are the questions experienced riders wish they had asked up front.

Where will you store it?

Four-wheelers are wider and generally heavier than a standard bike. Measure your garage space, side gate, shed door or wherever you plan to park it. Think about how you will get it in and out, and remember that the reverse function makes tight spots far easier to manage. If you need to keep it somewhere you can reach an outlet, plan for charging too.

Where will you ride it?

Be honest about your routes. If every ride starts and ends on pavement, you don't need trail tires. If your neighborhood has steep hills, the motor and pedal assist will be doing a lot of work, so battery size and range ratings become more important. Riding on dirt or with heavy cargo will reduce range compared with the rated maximum, so build in some margin.

What are the rules where you live?

Ebike regulations vary by state, city and even individual parks and trail systems. Some paths limit motor-assisted vehicles or set speed limits. Before you plan your favorite route, check the local rules for electric bikes and multi-wheel cycles in your area.

Does it fit your body?

Fit matters as much on four wheels as it does on two. Seat height and position, handlebar reach and pedal distance all affect comfort and control. The good news is that both of these bikes are highly adjustable. The Simple Glide's seat slides and tilts, and its handlebars move up, down and back. Still, it's worth confirming that the bike's adjustment range suits your height. If you aren't sure, the Get Fitted service is the fastest way to find out.

What accessories will you need?

A helmet is the obvious one. sixthreezero carries helmets sized for comfort riders. Think about lights if you plan to ride at dusk, a lock if you'll park outside stores and extra storage if your errands involve bulkier items. Some riders also pick up a spare battery for longer outings; you can find batteries and chargers in the parts section. It is a fair concern, especially when you are buying online. sixthreezero addresses it in a few ways.

The 30-day test ride

Every ebike comes with a 30-day test ride policy. Ride it at home, on your own streets, with your own errands. If you don't love it within the first 30 days, you can send it back. Dustin describes it as no questions asked and no money out of your pocket. That takes most of the risk out of trying a category of bike you may never have ridden before.

Warranty coverage

In the video, Dustin explains that sixthreezero warranties everything for the first year, covering parts and labor if something goes wrong. Warranty terms can be updated over time, so check the current details on the sixthreezero warranty page before you buy.

Ride one in person

If you're near Southern California, you can see and ride these bikes in person. sixthreezero's showroom is in San Clemente, California, at 1046 Calle Recodo, Unit K. Test riding before you buy is the best way to feel the difference between a recumbent and an upright four-wheeler, and between a four-wheeler and a trike. Visit hours and details are on the Visit Us page.

Talk to the team

If you have questions about four-wheel ebikes in general or either of these models in particular, you can reach the sixthreezero team by phone at (310) 982-2877 or through the contact page. Questions about fit, range on your specific routes or which model suits a particular health situation are exactly the kind of thing the team is there to answer.

Join the rider community before you buy

One of the more useful tips in the video is to join the community before you make a decision. sixthreezero runs a Facebook group for its riders, the sixthreezero Pedalers, with thousands of members. Ask existing owners how their four-wheeler handles hills, how far they actually get on a charge or how they store it. Real riders give real answers, and that firsthand feedback can confirm whether you're making the right choice.

Once your bike arrives, you can post your own rides, make friends in the group and download the sixthreezero Pedaling app to track your rides and compete on the leaderboard. For riders new to cycling, that sense of community is often what keeps them riding week after week.

If spreading out the cost would help, sixthreezero also offers financing options on its bikes.
","id":"86fb4f7d-e149-4af6-af46-764c94009760"},{"layoutId":"full-width-image-with-out-bleed","variants":{},"image":{"assetId":"51KKP1IDcBGMDm4V44Dh8C","options":{"backgroundSize":"cover"},"mobileAssetId":"","mobileOptions":{"backgroundSize":"cover"}},"id":"e1d59aa1-198e-4cfc-a5f8-0da33d2825a7"},{"layoutId":"paragraph-section","variants":{},"heading":"Frequently Asked Questions","body":"
What is a four-wheel electric bike?

A four-wheel electric bike is a pedal-powered quadricycle with an electric motor. It has two wheels in front and two in the rear, so it stays upright on its own at a stop, and the motor helps with hills, headwinds and getting moving from a standstill. Riders can pedal, use pedal assist, or use a throttle.

Is a four-wheel ebike more stable than an electric trike?

Both are self-balancing, but a four-wheeler puts a tire at each corner, giving it a wider base at the front and the rear. Riders who feel uneasy on a trike with a single front wheel often find a four-wheel layout feels more planted, particularly when turning or riding across uneven ground.

How fast do the Simple Glide 4 Wheel and ANYterrain Stabilized go?

The Simple Glide 4 Wheel reaches a top speed of up to 16 mph. The ANYterrain Stabilized reaches up to 19 mph. Both use a 750W rear-mounted motor.

How far can a four-wheel electric bike go on one charge?

Both models are rated for up to 50 miles of range. The Simple Glide 4 Wheel uses a 15Ah battery and the ANYterrain Stabilized uses a larger 20Ah battery. Real-world range depends on rider weight, cargo, terrain, temperature and how much you rely on the throttle versus pedaling.

Can I ride a four-wheel ebike without pedaling?

Yes. Both models have a throttle, so you can let the motor do the work without pedaling. You can also pedal with motor assistance at different levels, or turn the assist off and pedal on your own.

Do these four-wheel electric bikes have reverse?

Yes. Both the Simple Glide 4 Wheel and the ANYterrain Stabilized have a reverse function operated through the throttle, so you can back out of a parking spot or a tight corner without getting off.

Which four-wheel ebike is better for trails?

The ANYterrain Stabilized is the better choice for hard-packed dirt and trails. It has 4-inch-wide tires with a chunkier tread, an upright riding position and a larger battery. The Simple Glide 4 Wheel is designed mainly for pavement and community riding.

Is a four-wheel electric bike good for seniors or people who never learned to ride a bike?

Yes. Because it balances on its own, a four-wheel ebike removes the main skill that two-wheel riding requires. The recumbent Simple Glide 4 Wheel also has a low seat that is easy to get on and off, which many older riders appreciate.

Can I test ride a sixthreezero four-wheel ebike before buying?

Yes. You can visit the sixthreezero showroom in San Clemente, California to ride models in person, and online orders come with a 30-day test ride policy that lets you send the bike back if it isn't right for you.

Four-wheel electric bikes fill a gap that has existed in cycling for a long time. They give riders who can't or don't want to balance on two wheels a way to ride that feels completely secure, and the electric motor removes the heavy, hard-to-pedal reputation that kept four-wheelers on the boardwalk.

The Simple Glide 4 Wheel is the comfort choice: a recumbent seat that slides and tilts, a low and easy mount, adjustable handlebars, baskets front and rear, an optional canopy and a 750W motor with a 15Ah battery good for up to 16 mph and up to 50 miles. It is made for pavement, neighborhood rides and everyday errands.

The ANYterrain Stabilized is the versatile choice: an upright position, 4-inch-wide tires with a heavier tread, a bigger 20Ah battery, up to 19 mph and up to 50 miles of range. It is happy in town and just as comfortable on hard-pack trails.

Both stop with hydraulic disc brakes, both back up with a reverse function and both let you decide whether the motor does all of the work, some of it or none of it. Pick the one that matches the places you actually want to ride, take advantage of the test ride and spend some time in the rider community. Then get out there and enjoy the ride.

Ready to compare every model?
