Two fat-tire e-trikes you can take off-roading. Hey, everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. Today, I'm going to show you two fat-tire e-trikes you can take off-roading. All right, our Fat Tire Reverse e-trike and our Simple Step Through Fat Tire. Now, two totally different trikes. We've got our Reverse e-trike with the tilting steering in the front and our Fat Tire more traditional conventional trike with the tires in the rear. All right, let's walk through each of these. Now, let's start here with the simple step-through fat tire. You have this low step-through height of the frame for easy mounting and dismounting, a 750-watt BaFang front hub motor, front and rear disc brakes, and a 15-amp hour battery here. This is a really cool trike because you get the easy on-off and also the comfortable upright riding position. But a lot of power that you can take off-roading on trails. You've also got the suspension fork in the front to absorb the bumps and bruises, a twist throttle here that you can twist, and a trigger shifter here for the seven gears that come on this trike. Now, those gears are not a part of the electric motor. These are gears on a bike. They work in correlation to the motor, and you've got five levels of assistance and, of course, your twist throttle. You can pedal and get assistance, or you can twist the throttle; it's totally up to you. So if you're looking for a fat tire conventional trike that can balance while you sit on it but can still go over the bumps and do a little bit of off-roading, this is a really cool, fun option. And then, of course, you've got this big cargo basket in the back here where you can put things on your ride. You can also put custom bags in here from sixthreezero that fit in there as well. Now you've got 20-inch by four-inch rear tires and 24-inch by four-inch front tires set lower in the back to create more stability back here. And of course, those 4-inch wide tires make it ultra, ultra stable. The cruiser bend handlebars come into your body, and that's what allows for this upright ride. So you don't have to lean forward like this. We wanted to come out with something with the fat tires but also a comfortable riding position that was easy to get on and off.
It's a cool, comfortable trike that can handle trails. And if you wanna see more videos of this, I actually take it off-roading. I take it on some longer rides, so you can check our YouTube channel to see that. Now, moving over to the reverse trike, obviously a very different type of trike. Two front wheels in the front. This is gonna ride more like a regular bike. Now, it can balance on its own, but you really can't sit on it and balance. So if you're looking for something that you can sit on, be totally balanced. A conventional trike is a better bet. The two-front-wheel trike, though, is going to give you really, really good maneuverability. So if you want to go fast and zip through trails and have a lot of fun, this tilting steering is going to allow that because you're going to be able to go side to side. It's going to allow you to steer even more aggressively than a two-wheel bike. And with these 4-inch wide tires, it grips the ground. Now, the front wheels are 16 inches by 4 inches, and the rear is 20 inches by 4. So you get the same fat tires and the same 750-watt motor differences as a 20 amp hour battery. So you get even more range out of this reverse trike. You've also got a folding handlebar in the middle of the frame so you can fold it up and take it with you. I've got other videos on this where I measure it. If you want to check it out, see how it folds up. It can come with a front basket as well. Unfortunately, no rear basket. So, if you are looking for that added cargo space, this is a better option than the reverse e-trike. But if you're looking for something even more nimble, very stable, and has no chance of tipping, this is the one. But if you have a balance issue and you're not able to steer, this tilting steering is not a good option for you, and you should opt for more of a conventional trike that balances on its own. And again, if you want to see more videos on this one, I've got riding videos, and you can see right here up front how the tires lean. Now, again, it can balance on its own. We've got to put the parking brake on for riding backward, but you can see no kickstand. I'm not touching, and it does balance. But if you tip it, it falls over, and I've actually never tried. Let's see if I can balance. It is very hard to sit here and balance. Oh, there we go. But something to know.
So this is fun. You can corner aggressively on this and still stay up. So if you might need a little bit of assistance with balance, but you still want the feeling of a two-wheel bike, this is a lot of fun, especially if you want to ride trails. If you really don't want to balance and want to be secure, safe, and stable on all three wheels at all times, a conventional simple step-through fat tire trike would be best for you.
