Can This Electric Quadricycle Bike Make It Uphill?! You Will Not Believe How This 4 Wheel EBike Does

How to ride a four-wheel e-bike uphill? Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I'm nearly 20 years experienced in the bike and e-bike industry, and today I'm going to show you how to ride this four-wheel e-bike uphill. All right, this is the AnyTerrain four-wheel e-bike or electric quadricycle. Really, really cool. It's got a 750-watt rear hub motor. You can see the four-inch wide tires, and we've got four of them. And we've got this tilting steering mechanism that keeps the front end super balanced, and it turns really easily. Now, today, we're going to take on this hill right here, and I'm going to show you how this performs and the best way to get up the hill. Now, I've already shifted. This has seven gears on it and five levels of electric assist. So I've already shifted it down into gear one, which is the lowest gear and the easiest to pedal. And that's going to be ideal for going uphill. I'm going to put it into level five on the pedal assistance level, so we have the most power. And a couple of things with this. Now, this weighs over 100 pounds, the bicycle tricycle itself. I'm 230 pounds. So with four wheels contacting the ground, there is a lot of drag and friction. So lighter riders are obviously going to get up the hill easier now.

We only use a 750-watt motor because we want this to be classified as an electric bicycle and be street legal, right? When you start getting into putting thousand-watt motors on here, now it becomes definitely not street legal and not classified as an electric bicycle, tricycle, you name it. So, that's why we don't increase the power. Now, of course, if you increase the power, you're going to zip up the hill a lot easier, but you can't do that legally to have it classified the way we want it classified. So I am going to show you how we're going to get up this hill. Now, also, if you can avoid stopping on hills and grades, that's going to make the ascent much easier. OK, one thing I'll tell you also is that doing throttle only uphill with this four-wheel e-bike is going to be difficult, if not impossible.

So, for riders over 200 pounds, most likely you're not going to use the throttle. Depends on the grade of the hill. This is a fairly steep grade. A longer, gradual hill, you could probably do the throttle. Under 200 pounds, you can probably do throttle only. But for heavier riders, you're going to have to use the electric pedal assist. So let's go ahead and get started. Okay. All right. Just got to get through there. All right. Now I've got it in level five pedal assist. I actually have it in the fourth speed, the gear. So if I want to make it a little easier on myself, I'll shift down. And I can even go down into level two. There we go. So, I mean, my exertion level is like nothing. We're going eight and a half miles an hour. Not terrible. Again, you're not going to be flying up these hills when you've got four, four-inch wide tires contacting the ground. But again, I'm 230 pounds. So just think about it. If you're 180, minus 50 pounds off is quite a bit to get up the hill. And it's also hard when you're watching this video to put in perspective that that's actually a pretty decent little grade. Now, it's not a super long hill, but a pretty decent little grade. Okay. Now we're up. Go ahead and shift up. And we can hit our straightaway. Now we're cooking. So again, e-bikes are not designed; this is not supposed to be a quad four-wheeler that you zoom around with the throttle, right? You've got some assistance. It's nice because it's got four wheels, it's balanced, and it turns more easily. If you're someone who has balance issues and you're not too keen on three-wheel bikes, this is a great option. It's a lot of fun. Huge cargo space. And you can do hills. Again, you saw me. I'm 230 pounds. It wasn't... Actually, it was easy going at eight and a half miles an hour. So not too, too bad, right? And I could have some other items in the back here, and we could do the hill.
