Debunking an e-bike myth. If you wanna lose weight, don't get an electric bike. I'll explain why that's not true. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry, and today we're gonna debunk an e-bike myth, which is that Buying an e-bike is not a good choice if you wanna lose weight, and I'm gonna explain why. Now, both of these electric bikes are linked in the description below. It's a simple step-through, easy-to-mount and dismount e-bike. Check it out in the description below. Now, getting an electric bike, I think, is actually one of the greatest weight loss tools, and here's why. There are many riders that stay off of riding on two wheels because they don't have the leg strength anymore, and they fear that they can't keep the bike upright.
So maybe they don't get on a bike at all. Now, if you can't get on a bike at all or you don't have that leg strength, it's not a good idea to not be active. But it may be scary to get on two wheels. Again, if you don't feel like you have the strength. That's why an electric bike is so great to help facilitate weight loss. I see many riders who have lost leg strength and can get back onto an e-bike. Have the motor assist them over time, build their leg strength, and lose weight. Now, again, if you didn't have the motor, a lot of these riders couldn't ride. I see comments out there all the time that say, oh, you shouldn't have an e-bike if you wanna lose weight, this and that. Not true. I like to make this metaphor, which is like, that it's like going to the gym, and you get on a machine that can give you assistance to help you build your strength, and over time, you reduce that resistance. The same is true for an electric bike. You choose how much or how little resistance you want when you ride.
You can start with a little bit of assistance and work your way up to a lot of assistance. The choice is yours as you ride. And over time, you can build your leg strength and get more comfortable with riding till eventually you build your leg strength back and you can lose weight on your rides. So, being active, if there's a difference between not being active and being active, and you can't ride a two-wheel bike, and you can be active on an electric bike, you can lose weight. Also, if you just go online, join some Facebook groups, or join some forums, you're gonna see tons of people sharing stories about how they've lost weight riding an e-bike because it's gotten them back into cycling. I'm a big believer in it, and I truly think electric bikes are being so beneficial for so many people.
