Comparing our legacy Simple step-through e-bike to our brand new 2025 Simple step-through e-bike.
Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. Today, I'm gonna compare our legacy version of our 2020 Simple step-through e-bike to our brand new 2025 version. Before I get into it, hit that subscribe button below, and stay in touch with us here at Sixthreezero. Be the first to know about all the new content we're putting out, giveaways we're doing, and of course, new product releases. All right, right here, I've got our Simple step-through e-bike. This is our legacy version, and this is our brand new 2025 version. This has become one of our best sellers for the obvious reason of this very low step-through height, which is the lowest step-over height of any e-bike on the market, except for the 20-inch version of it, which is even lower. Now, a lot of riders need to have this low-step-through frame to get on and off. It not only has a low step-through, but it also has a very wide opening to fit through. And the seat also comes down low to allow shorter riders to get on and off. And that's something I'm going to point out about the newer version as well. So the glaring difference that you can hopefully make out is the front suspension fork. The old Legacy version has a rigid front fork. In addition to that, we've got the integrated front headlight and the rear tail light. And we've also upgraded the display here to a larger display versus the display on the side. Now, in the newer version of the Legacies, we actually did upgrade the display.
So those newer models of this version do have it. This is one of the older ones with the smaller display. By the grip. Now, everything else is pretty much the same. You have the 500-watt rear hub motor, you have the 10.4 amp-hour battery, and of course, you have the same frame. And in terms of the step-through heights, those are the same. Go ahead and measure. You can see right here, this is about 10 and a half inches, actually pretty much 10 and a half inches. And moving over to this one, 10 and a half inches as well. Now, one thing we've also done on the 2025 version is we've lowered the top of the seat tube. So this allows the seat to go down even lower. So in the lowest position, the seat goes down to 31 inches. So that's gonna make mounting and dismounting for riders about five feet tall possible. For the Legacy version, you can see that with the seat down, the seat in the lowest position was just about 33 inches. So that is a two-inch difference, which I know is a big deal for a lot of riders. So while this model didn't accommodate riders below about 5'2", 5'3", very well, the new 2025 version will accommodate riders five feet and up because of that lower seat height. And of course, the very low step through. So we're excited about that. The front suspension is a great new add-on. So if you want that shock absorption, that vibration reduction, the front suspension fork is awesome. You can utilize that whether you're on pavement or off-road, totally up to you. If you want that maximum soft, cushy ride, just go ahead and engage it and let that suspension move up and down. You can also lock out the suspension. And what that means is that you don't have to have it engaged. When you lock it out, it performs the same way as a rigid fork. So it will not move up and down. The benefit of that is you get more roll out of the wheel, more efficiency. So really, you can determine what's best for you on any given ride. So it's a nice upgrade.
Now, the front and rear headlights, those can be controlled from your display up here. A great feature. For those of you who ride at night, you can go ahead and flip your light on. When you pull your brakes back here, your real taillight will be engaged as well. So, just an awesome safety feature. And then lastly, this display just makes it a lot easier to easily see your battery life, your miles per hour, your pedal assist level, so you can keep your head straight versus having to look off into the side here. So like I said, still the same comfortable riding position, still. The back is upright, and both have the mechanical front and rear disc brakes. And of course, both come in these great colors. We have the four color options: the navy, teal, cream, and matte black.
