Operating Your Easy Transit E-Trike Made Simple | sixthreezero How-To

Today, I’ll show you exactly how to operate the Easy Transit Foldable Electric Trike from sixthreezero, from powering it on to riding safely and efficiently.

The Easy Transit is a compact 16-inch foldable electric trike designed for easy transport, storage, and everyday use. Let’s walk through everything you need to know to get started.

1. Battery and Key Setup

When your Easy Transit arrives, you’ll receive two keys attached to the front cables.

Keep one stored safely — replacement requires a factory request.

The battery is located behind the seat post. Insert the key into the lock at the base and turn it to unlock. The battery slides out easily.

Before reinstalling or charging, make sure the red switch on the battery is in the ON position — if it’s OFF, your trike won’t power up.

Press the battery power button on top to check the charge level.

  • Full light bars = full charge.
  • The charging port is located on the side.

⚠️ Important: Never insert anything metal into the charging port. Use only the included charger.

To charge:

  1. Plug the charger into the wall first.
  2. Then connect it to the battery.
  3. A red light indicates charging; it turns green when fully charged.

You can charge the battery on or off the trike. If storing the trike in an area with extreme temperatures, keep the battery indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Once charged, slide the battery back in until it clicks, then lock it using your key.

2. Powering On the Trike

With the battery secured and switched on, move up to the handlebars. Hold down the power button in the center of the display to turn on the system.

Your display will show:

  • Battery level
  • Assist level (PAS 1–5)
  • Speed (mph)
  • Wattage output
  • Odometer
  • Temperature (°C)

Wattage may temporarily rise above 750W when climbing hills or accelerating — that’s normal.

3. Drive & Reverse Mode

On the left handlebar, you’ll find a red switch labeled “D / R”:

  • D = Drive (forward)
  • R = Reverse

Flip the switch to reverse, then lightly press the thumb throttle to move backward. Switch back to Drive for normal riding.

4. Throttle and Pedal Assist

The thumb throttle is on the right handlebar. Press it gently to accelerate — avoid pushing abruptly. The trike also features Pedal Assist (PAS). When you pedal, the motor engages automatically to support your movement. Start in PAS level 1 or 2 until you’re comfortable with the feel of the motor. Any time you pull either brake lever, the motor will disengage immediately for safety.

5. Brakes and Parking Brake

The Easy Transit has front and rear brakes on the handlebars.

Each brake lever includes a parking brake latch:

  1. Pull the lever in.
  2. Push the small tab to lock it.

This keeps your trike stationary while parked or mounting.

6. Gear Shifting

The seven-speed gear system works just like a standard bicycle.

Use the trigger shifter on the right to adjust:

  • Lower gears (1–3) for hills or slower speeds
  • Higher gears (5–7) for cruising and higher assist levels

Match your gear with your pedal assist for smoother riding. Too low a gear at high PAS will make your legs spin quickly; find your ideal cadence through practice.

7. Safety & Mounting Tips

  • Always engage the parking brake before mounting.
  • Turn off the motor before getting on or off.
  • Start in PAS 1 to get used to the trike’s acceleration.
  • Use both brakes together for smooth stops.
  • Lean slightly into turns and take them slowly — trikes handle differently than bikes and should keep all three wheels grounded.
  • Avoid using throttle or pedal assist while turning. Accelerate only after straightening out.

8. Folding Features

The Easy Transit includes:

  • A quick-release lever at the frame hinge for folding.
  • A folding handlebar stem for compact storage.

You can see our full folding demonstration on the sixthreezero YouTube channel for step-by-step visuals.

9. Riding Demonstration

To ride:

  1. Turn on the display.
  2. Select PAS 1 or use the throttle to begin moving gently.
  3. As you ride, adjust assist levels and gears to your comfort.
  4. On downhills, apply brakes gradually — don’t squeeze suddenly.
  5. For climbs, increase pedal assist gradually (PAS 3–5).

The Easy Transit’s 750W motor provides strong support — even at higher weights or inclines — so you can enjoy a smooth, confident ride.
