Tandem E-Bike POV: Experience the Ride Like You’re on a Tandem E-Trike! Ready to Ride?!

Hi, I'm Diane. I'm at sixthreezero today, and I recently had the exciting opportunity to test ride our tandem e-bike. This unique model offers a comfortable and stable ride, especially with a passenger. Our videographer, Lisa, joined me for the ride to experience it firsthand. 

Key Bike Features

Before hitting the road, here are some key features that enhance the riding experience:

• Pedal Assist & Throttle: We have pedal assist settings, a throttle on the right for an extra boost, and a central display showing energy level, speed, pedal assist level, and mileage.
• Gears: Seven gears are available to help navigate different terrains.
• Storage: The bike is equipped with both a front and a rear basket.
• Passenger Spot: The rear seat is designed for a comfortable ride for the passenger, who can choose to either assist with pedaling or simply coast and rest their feet.
• Easy Step-Through: The simple, low step-through design makes it incredibly easy to mount and dismount the bike.

Hitting the Road: The Ride Experience

We started the ride using pedal assist one and the throttle to get moving. Immediately, I noticed how smooth and comfortable the ride was—it's easy to forget there's a passenger behind you!

To accommodate the extra weight of a passenger, I quickly moved up to pedal assist two and then three. Lisa and I had to communicate to coordinate our pedaling, making us feel like a real team.

During a test of stability, we intentionally rode over a bump, and the bike handled it well, proving its durability. Testing Out the Power

We decided to truly test the bike’s capability by turning off the pedal assist and relying only on our pedaling, or "hoofing it." Despite having two riders, the bike was manageable, even as we approached a slight incline on a driveway. The strong teammate in the back certainly helped, but the bike's design made the workout feasible.

We quickly went back to pedal assist and used the throttle. The ride continued to be very smooth and stable. I particularly appreciated:

• Comfort: The smooth ride, comfortable handlebars, and ability to handle bumps.
• Stability and Maneuverability: Thanks to the trike design and two rear wheels, the bike offered incredible stability. The steering and tight maneuverability meant there was no need to lean into turns.
